Seeing the Round Corners

HEADS UP, the new day for Seeing the Round Corners “GOING LIVE” is Tuesday each week.

February 16, 2021

IN LOVING MEMORY TO THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FOUR-LEGGED, FURRY FRIEND EVER IN MY LIFE, “PUPPY EYES” PRINCESS TASHA BEAVER.
We will never be able to replace you as you watch over us from doggie heaven.

Here is an e-mail this writer sent to the Newfoundland Rescue in Nebraska that had Tasha’s brother’s picture on the internet fifteen years ago. May seem silly to some readers, but when someone has been a part of your life for 15 years, there is no way to describe the hole in your life left when they depart.

E-MAIL TO ALL DOGGIES HOPING FOR A FOREVER HOME
FROM PRINCESS TASHA BEAVER

Just wanted to tell you how happy I am in my new home.  It’s really a neat place. I get to run free all the time, all through the forest, making sure to chase the bear, deer and elk away. No fences or pens for me, and I have my very own little stream to play in and run through, splattering water everywhere. I sometimes run and jump in the middle, just to see how high I can splash the water. Everyone knows how “Neufies” like water, maybe that comes from being a little bit Lab.

My mom and Dad think I’m a really smart girl, even though I’ve chewed up everything in sight. When I first arrived as a puppy, I chewed the spine of a first edition of “Gone With the Wind.”  Boy, I never wanted a scolding like that.

When the car or pickup start, I sit by the house and never try to follow (so long as Shadow is staying home). At night, I sleep in the house with Shadow and my folks, no dog house for me, no siree.

My big brother, Shadow, thinks I’m a pain in the behind. I try to get him to play with me and run thru the forest, but he is 98 in people years and kind of slow, so he just likes to walk slow with my Mom or Dad.

Thanks for putting my brother’s picture on the internet. My Mom drove all the way to Nebraska but I was chosen when she got there, and I found such a great home. I get petting all the time and lots of hugs. My Mom says I torment Shadow just as he did his big brother, Chebon, who lived here for 15-1/2 years, before I came. They all still miss him a whole lot.

To you Princess Tasha, we are toasting you each morning with coffee and your ginger snap cookies, and will never stop loving and missing you.
