Seeing the Round Corners

For the next few weeks, columns from the archives will appear while this writer takes a break to get a brand new shoulder. Enjoy!

With all the rhetoric on tax increases and the fiscal cliff, it seemed appropriate to present this “tid-bit” received from a loyal reader:

Someone please tell me what the Hell’s wrong with all the people who run this country! Both Republicans and Democrats!

We’re broke and can’t help our own Seniors, Veterans, orphans, homeless. . . In the last years we have provided aid to Haiti, Chile, Pakistan, Libya, Egypt, Turkey, Isarel and Japan –  literally billions of dollars in aid.

Our retired Seniors living on a “fixed income,” live in fear of their aid (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) being cut, nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations send hundreds of billions of dollars and tons of food to foreign countries.

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans, with our children in foster care “failed to death” on a regular basis. AMERICA:  a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without “needed” meds and mentally ill without treatment, etc., etc.

Yet, they have a “benefit” for the people of Haiti on twelve TV stations, ships and planes lined up with food, water, tents, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies, while those foreign governments block distribution to the victims.  Imagine if the “GOVERNMENT” gave us the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn’t it!!

To the above, this writer adds . . .

And there are those voters out there across American still in disbelief their candidate did not become the first woman President of these United States. Considering the above “tid bits,’ is it any wonder the people of America voted for CHANGE, for someone with the guts willing to put America first????
